Cars24
Scaling India's largest digital auto marketplace meant modernising cloud infrastructure, real-time data pipelines, and observability — simultaneously, without slowing the product team.

The Challenge
Cars24 was scaling rapidly as India's leading digital auto marketplace, but its infrastructure wasn't keeping pace. Legacy systems created downtime risk and slowed feature rollouts. BI teams were bottlenecked by outdated ETL pipelines that couldn't support the real-time analytics leadership needed to make faster decisions. Infrastructure costs were climbing due to under-optimised environments, and the platform lacked the observability required to manage microservice complexity at high volume.
Our Solution
GYSP orchestrated a comprehensive cloud modernisation — migrating workloads from AWS to Google Cloud Platform for long-term cost efficiency, containerising Java applications into microservices on Docker Swarm, AWS Fargate/ECS, and GKE. We built real-time analytics pipelines using Fivetran to Snowflake, replacing legacy ETL with automated workflows that eliminated data latency. Monitoring was overhauled — transitioning from New Relic to Dynatrace — and GitLab CI / Jenkins pipelines brought zero-touch deployment automation across the entire platform.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why did Cars24 migrate from AWS to GCP?+
The migration was driven by long-term cost efficiency and GCP's strengths in data infrastructure. GCP's native data ecosystem integrates more tightly with analytics-heavy workloads, and the pricing model was more favourable for Cars24's usage patterns. GYSP managed the migration without service disruption, transitioning workloads progressively while keeping production stable throughout.
What is Fivetran and how does it improve data pipeline performance?+
Fivetran is a managed ELT platform that automates data ingestion from source systems into a data warehouse — in Cars24's case, into Snowflake. Replacing legacy ETL workflows with Fivetran eliminated the manual pipeline maintenance that was creating data latency and BI bottlenecks, giving business teams access to near-real-time data for faster decision-making.
How did GYSP improve observability when migrating Cars24 from New Relic to Dynatrace?+
Dynatrace provides deeper AI-driven anomaly detection and distributed tracing compared to New Relic — better suited to Cars24's growing microservices complexity. GYSP managed the observability migration in parallel with infrastructure changes, ensuring no monitoring gaps during the transition and tuning Dynatrace's AI engine to Cars24's normal traffic patterns to reduce false positives.
When should a team use Docker Swarm versus Kubernetes for container orchestration?+
Docker Swarm is simpler to set up and operate, making it a good fit for teams needing container orchestration without Kubernetes' operational overhead. Kubernetes offers more advanced scheduling, auto-scaling, and ecosystem tooling — better suited to complex, large-scale microservices. For Cars24, GYSP used Docker Swarm for specific workloads while leveraging GKE (managed Kubernetes) for the main platform, matching the orchestration tool to the complexity of each component.
